The theme for craft group this month was sock monster. I had considered making a sock eating monster, but in the end couldn’t resist casting on a 16 stitch sock in my leftover goth sock yarn.

A loverly Aran
So this is what my side to side aran sweater looked like a week ago. In the meantime I have knit most of the body 2 1/2 times.
Funny how the cables breezed by, but the plain body is being such a bitch. I think this style of sweater wants to be boxy, and it's fighting my efforts at smooth body shaping. This combined most likely with a certain sloppiness in math calculations has been quite vexing.
Now I've backed up to the armpits once again, and I'm doing the whole thing in 6x2 rib on smaller needles and it looks to be just right. There's something to be said for making the ribbing do all the work.
It all goes well I'll finally finish in a few days. Any other project would be in time out by now, but I love this yarn so that I just keep plugging at it.
Sorry for the lack of disaster pictures, it would have been nice to post them, but I was too quick to rip. Luckily this yarn (Rustic Wool from Bendigo Mills) is proving to be very forgiving of all the frogging.
