My Drops cabled cardigan is finished. As 109-3 is not an acceptable knitting design name, I've called it a multitude of names in the last few weeks as I knit it up.
Thanks to the lovely people of plurk, it's final name shall be Sexy Victory Cables. I was knitting away on this Tuesday night watching election coverage, and it will always remind me of the moment when it suddenly seemed like everything might be okay again... or at least start moving in the right direction.
I finished the hood last night at my craft group meeting and did what little finishing was required this morning. I grafted the hood closed and sewed up the underarms, then it was just a few ends to weave in. That's another nice thing about Cascade Eco Wool, huge skeins mean very few ends to deal with.

The buttons are made by the fabulous Karen the Pottery Lady... I really should figure out her last name and see if she has a web presence so I can pimp her. I've been stuffing my cabinets (heh!)with her lovely goblets and bowls for years, collecting bits at each festival I see her at. The last year or so she's had a bowl of buttons and this is the first time I've knit something heavy enough to use them on.

Thanks again Trixi for saying that mismatched buttons could be a good thing :) I love the final effect.
The whole sweater used just three skeins of yarn, so I have two left over for a vest or what not. Now I can't wait to try some of the colored eco wool, or maybe overdye some of the fawn or grey to get a nice heathered green or purple.
