I finally got around to blocking out my alpaca scarf this morning, it's almost dry. If the sun comes out in the next hour or so I might even be able to take it to knitting, but I'm not holding my breath.

a close up

And an update on the snow peas! I know all 6 of you are on the edge of your seats ;)

That's what... a month's worth of growth. Peas are magic I tell you.

My latest spinning looks just like days 1-3, so I won't bore you with another picture just yet, but the tour continues. I only managed about an hour yesterday, but that still means I haven't missed a day yet. I may bring my wheel to knitting this afternoon.

day 4

I've plied up three nice hanks of three ply. I have a little bit of single left on each bobbin, but I'll probably just refill them with singles before plying again. I thought about getting out the plying head to make giant skeins.. but the ratios on it are so big I'd be treadling like a mad woman ;)

Since this is for a sweater I'm (for once) measuring as I wind onto the niddy noddy. So far I have approximately 458 yards of worsted weight yarn. Not too shabby. I definitely won't be running out of roving for this project.

This merino is spinning up so light and fluffy. I abused the fiber just enough in the dyeing process to give it a bit of woolen character.

Ooooh

The Yarn Museum

How cool! I may have to come up with a submission for "Self Portrait"

I finished off the third bobbin tonight after work. My pace of a bobbin a day will probably slack off as work interferes during the week. Now for some plying fun.
