Irish Diamond Shawl by Cheryl Oberle, Folk Shawls
Elsbeth Lavold's Silky wool, approximately 8.5 skeins
Size 6 needles
This shawl turned out so much better than I'd even imagined. I love everything about it; The drape, size, color and feel, it's all wonderful. I need to get a picture of it on me, I can totally wrap myself up in it.
I used my knit picks blocking wires for the first time with this shawl. I'll never go back to pins, it took less than a half hour to get it all laid out. (It would have been painless if I hadn't already been worn out from yard work) It took up the whole floor of my craft room and had to hang way over the edges of my foam blocking squares.
I'm now deep in to Father's Day socks for Dad. FYI Austermann Step does not have enough yardage for size 11 man feet. Luckily, I had leftover DIC smooshy from knitting Thermal and I'm using that for the heels and toes. It looks just marvelous together I think. The other nice thing about this combo is that the DIC is a slightly thicker yarn so the heels and toes will be extra squishy.

I'm also almost done with my Bearfoot socks. They've been languishing in the basket while I was knitting other things. I haven't even got these on Rav yet.

All my knitting got to pose by the pond as I've been working like crazy getting the yard cleaned up and converted to a low maintenance oasis.
