I was possessed to finish these socks today. I blame a hamper full of dirty handknit socks and cold feet.

This was my first experience with Risata, the new solid colored cotton blend sock yarn from Knitpicks. It's cotton, wool, nylon and elastic. The blend makes for a yarn that is stretchy and easy on the hands, as well as beautifully multi toned in color. The stitch definition is also really nice. The feel of the yarn is more like cotton than wool. It's not super soft, but not at all harsh or scratchy.

Despite the fact that the yarn is made up of many plies, I didn't really have a problem with it splitting.

I can't really find anything to complain about. We'll see how it holds up to wear and washing. It seems like a yarn that will wear well do to it's multiple plies and strong twist.

The pattern is Embossed Leaves from Interweave. This is the second pair of socks I've knit to this pattern and I still love it. I'm sure it won't be the last. I'm excited to keep this pair, the first ones went to Grandma for Christmas last year.

Kilronan is moving along, to the detriment of other projects at the moment. I've made it to the ribbed waist section on the back already. I love the teture of this fabric, the way the checkerboard ribbing of the background plays off the cable panels.

I love getting to the point of a complicated pattern where if you don't actually have it memorized, you can at least move from going cross eyed keeping your place, to just glancing down to make sure you're in the right spot.
