skull close up

(hence the halfway decent picture) They just look really puckery on the 32" circular.

I finished another first sock, a green cable number that I'm in love with. Then I cast on for elf sock #2. I love love love the magic toe cast on. It's so much less fiddly than the short row toe I was doing before. I'm a convert. I definitely recommend to just loop the yarn over the needle for the first cast on stitch rather than doing a slip knot though, as I found out with my first sock that the knot shows in the finished toe. If you just twist though, it's nice and smooth.

I'm going to have to put Kilronan to the back of my brain while I wait for the yarn to show up. I didn't realize when I placed my order that the silky wool was going to be a special order with no definite ship time. Ooops. Patience. It's not like I don't have a million other things I want to knit ;)

Here's a blast from the past. This is the very first thing that I knit for my adorable nephew. He's finally now big enough to wear it. It's knit from one of my favorite all time yarns, Shepherd's Baby Wool. I still love this thing. I was inspired by the red stripy baby outfit from Labyrinth. Doesn't he look like he's about to get in similar trouble? ;)
