A quick pictureless update.
I finished my sock club socks. They sure are purty. I knit and blocked one of the garters to see how they would look on me.... um no. I think they would look lovely on someone with petite legs, but not so much on me. They would however make fantastic cuffs. I may just knit up another and use them as lace cuffs on some future project.
I also cast on for the lacy mohair wrap from fitted knits, forgive me for not remembering the name of it off the top of my head. It's a lovely and quick knit. I've been working on it on and off (mostly off) for a week or so and I'm through the body and sleeves and am now working the wrap around bits. I'm using the yarn called for in the pattern (gasp!) I think this is a first for me. I found it in black on ebay and thought what the heck.
Also freshly cast on since last posting is a little hoody from the most recent knitty for the adorable nephew. I finished the front and back and am ready to cast on the sleeves. I think I'm going to knit them together. I'll probably get them started and finished on the home commute, or close to it, as I'm doing the 3/4 length option. Then it's on to the yoke and hood. Hopefully I'll have this finished by Friday when I see the tyke.
The last freshly cast on item is toe up ribbed socks for Dad's birthday. They're in the "fly fishing" colorway of knitpicks memories merino sock yarn. I love the squishiness factor of this yarn. The colors are less pretty knitted up than they were all jumbled in the skein (I hate that!) but something tells me that Dad won't notice/care so I'm full steam ahead. I'm hoping to have these socks and some felted clogs done by April 1st.
I've been on a book buying binge of late. More about that later! (Along with pictures of the various wips)
