I finished my socks that rock, they're lovely. I immediately wore them though so I should give them a wash before I post a picture ;) These are my favorite socks so far I think. They're so incredibly cushy. Good times.
So Saturday I cast on for new socks. Even though I was drooling over the koigu, I decided next up would be my very first sock club socks. (From Pick Up Sticks) The yarn is Spunky Eclectic Skinny Super Sock in the "Romance" colorway. The pattern is a lovely ripply number with detachable lace sock garters.
After misadventures in yarn winding (thank the gods gordon is so patient)I was off and running on these socks over the weekend. I got the gauge of 9 stitches per inch with the suggested size 1 needles. I debated altering the pattern to make them a bit tighter (the fabric is a lot looser than I normally would knit socks) but in the end I decided to make them as written.
The first sock just flew off my needles. I finished it this morning, minus the garter. The fabric is definitely more drapey than my average sock, but I love it. The pattern and the yarn are gorgeous together, absolutely no pooling. The fit around the ankle is superb. There must be something about zig zag and wave patterns that keep sock ankles from bagging.

Also on the needles is a quick little jogging suit (heh) for my nephew. I'm on the second pant leg at the moment, no pictures yet. After the pants I'll be making a litle coordinating hoody. I'm considering duplicate stitching a skull on the back of the hoody ;)
